Prelude 08:04
Prelude people here, people there, people running everywhere. don’t know where they come from, where they go to on and on. driving cars on the road, aeroplanes, motorboats. more and more overcrowd, no time to think about... chorus: time to watch a flower growing, time to hear a river flowing, time to take a walk into the park. time to hear the blackbirds singing, time to watch the fishes swimming, time for living, time for you and me. murder on the tv screen, splashing blood, action scene. Shooting guns, folks confused, dying men, the daily news. air pollution, plant destruction, lies and cheat and corruption, race conflict, social crime, it’s difficult to find the time. chorus

Fields Of Fire all alone in the darkness of her room she was sitting still. the silence gave her what she needed to think about her will. there was a man, and he seemed to be the love of her. and so she thought how she could get the one that she preferred. in her dreams she held his hand in hers. they walked along the beach of everywhere. she was so happy then, but it seemed, that this could happen only in her dreams. and she dreamt to go outside the door and to walk through fields of fire. and she dreamt to see him standing there, and she felt her big desire. and she dreamt to fall into his arms, and to love him from the heart. but then she knew that it’s all a dream, and they were still apart. and as she still was dreaming in the dark, she felt a sting in her heart like a spark. she felt that was a sign, that was enough, and she had to follow it to find her love. and she went outside the door of her home, and she walked through fields of fire, and she saw him standing at the end of the way of her desire. and then she fell into his arms, and she loved him from the heart. and now she knew what she’s waiting for was no dream anymore.

Drowned Day 06:36
Drowned Day another day breaks silently, another movie starts. another sunbeam warms up another old man’s heart. another radio station plays another forgotten song. another forgotten hero boozes another whole day long. his big time’s gone, his hour has come. loneliness compressed in the glass in his hand, no one understands. chorus: just another destiny of another average man. a bit like you and me, a bit like now and then. another dead end street, another tear of pain, another destiny, another drowned day. another dirty train leaves another dirty place. another tear is rolling down another dirty face. another hand holds trembling another photograph. another wounded memory, another broken love. the days are gone, over and done. shadows and lights in black and white blend into grey on a lousy day. chorus

Poor Man’s Child somewhere on a dirty road a little poor girl child is playing with her broken doll, never asking why. her father’s working hard each day to lead a simple life. but she is happy in her world. she never cries, never cries for more. she’ll never know what it means to be rich man’s child. and she will never know what it means to eat strawberry cream, she’ll never know what it means to sleep in her own bed, she has to share it with her dad. she’s just a poor man’s child. somewhere in a fresh cleaned room a little fat boy child is staring at his thousand toys, never asking why. his father is a wealthy man, buys everything he wants. but he’s unhappy in his world. he ever cries, ever cries for more. he’ll never know what it means to be a poor man’s child. and he will never know what it means to eat from empty plates, he’ll never know what it means to share, or what it means to renounce his foolish needs. he’s just a rich man’s child.

When We Danced All Nicht it was long ago, it was years ago, but i remember it well. so take a little time to hear, what i want to tell. it must have been in summertime, when i was young. well, it was great what we had done. together we were playing the old games of robber and gendarm, we saw no pain. we never had a problem, no reason to be sad. well, this was the best time we had. chorus: when we danced all night ‚round the firelight our hearts were beating fast. we had so much fun, when we had to run so as not to be the last. all the sorrows far away, no reason to disagree, this was the only time of life, when we were really free. it was the time when i discovered my first sweet love, we played and sang together, we had so much to laugh. we hid away and so somewhere she gave me my first kiss. believe me when i say this time i miss. each opportunity we used to meet again, we secretly crept away now and then. we had a real good time when we were young. well, it was great what we had done. chorus

If I Was A Painter if i was a painter, i’d take a giant brush. i’d take the time to paint the whole world red. so no one could see soldiers lying in their blood. if i could i’d paint the whole world red, dark red. if i was a poet i’d write romantic tales where beggar marries princess in thee end. so everyone who reads it would know the world is well. if i could i’d write it with my hands, with my own hands. chorus: give me hands to shelter! give me feet to run! give me a voice to cry out! give me feet to run, run away! if i was a singer i’d sing the loudest songs of wealth, prosperity and career. so no one would be able to hear the poor man’s cry. yes, if i could i’d sing it loud and clear everywhere. chorus if i was a murderer i’d kill reality. so everyone would live in fantasy. if i was a murderer i’d rather kill myself. so no one would be able to kill me.

Bleeding 02:04
Bleeding thought i heard a voice outside my open window. sounded like a blackbird singing lullabies for no one. but i must be wrong, there’s no bird singing songs. the bird’s just weeping. thought i saw a rainbow darkening the blue sky, threw a million drops upon my upwards looking face. but i must be wrong, there’s no rain falling down. the cloud’s just weeping. thought there was a dream sneaking through my brain, meant to make my heart smile again, but i must be wrong, there’s no smile in my heart. it’s just bleeding...

Valley Of Time the sun is going down, i’m standing here alone, waiting for the moon to rise up to the sky, to the sky. standing on a hill, watching the old mill, which didn’t work since 1969, in the valley of time. it’s years ago that i have left this place, but i don’t like remembering the days at this place. i lost my love down there in the grass, or should i say that she left me. yes, she left me. there was a cruel man and he didn’t understand, that the girl he loved was only loving me, only me. and so he took his gun, the girl began to run. but he shot her down in his jealousy, in his jealousy. my girl broke down in pain, the man he shot again. i couldn’t help her anymore, she died in the valley of time. now i’m standing at the grave that i dug at this place for the girl of mine, in the valley of time. the flowers that i’ve planted are withered now, but as i try i cannot forget that she is dead.

Farewell 08:17
Farewell dear friend, when you read these words, i’ll be gone. there’s a place where you can’t find me, where i’d like to be alone. dear friend, don’t be sad, i had to go. i feel empty and exploited, darkness grows. dear friend, when you read these lines, remember back in time, what funny crazy things we did, when we were kids. do you still remember the meadow where we played? a concrete block with plastic trees now there fills the plain. farewell! there’s no place for me to stay when they bury my past under solid ground. farewell! where have my dreams gone? they build a wall around my present time. give some greetings to michelle, she’s beautiful. tell her i really loved her, and i always will. maybe i was mean to her, but let her know, i didn’t want to hurt her, i just lost control. those selfish people kill me with their ignorance. what i have done, my friend, was only self defence. dreams break, wounds don’t heal, the breath gets cold. the blade pierces by and by my screaming soul. farewell! you were my best friend. i hope we’ll meet again in another time. farewell! you were my only friend. i know we’ll meet again on the other side.

Firebird 04:08
Firebird the moon goes down into the sea, the world awakes into the day. beyond the mountains of the dawn a new creature of life is born. the being comes out of the fire, it’s gradually getting higher. it has the figure of a bird. they’re coming true the prophet’s words: chorus: when the firebird is flying high above the clouds, when you hear its scream, when you see its gleam, when you hear it crying out, when the firebird is coming out of the flames, then the world is getting near to the last days. and now the bird is flying high, flying up into the sky. the sun gets dark, it turns to red. mankind’s getting fear and dread. the rivers and the seven seas are running dry from the burning heat. there is no chance to survive, this will extinguish all the life. chorus the nature’s losing now its pretty face. now they have come, the world’s last days. all is breaking down in ashes and dirt. and high above it you hear the cry of the firebird. chorus

Goodbye 03:14
Goodbye i’m reminded of the first time i met you by the sea. i think of all the lovely moments you were close to me. your glance confused my mind at once, so i had not a little chance. i couldn’t help falling in love with you under golden stars and silver dew. and now tonight will be the last time i can spend with you. sitting here in darkened rooms we are staring mute. a tear is rolling across your face, it mirrors all the happy days we left behind in memories. and to say i don’t know what it means was a lie. it means goodbye. you must leave me now alone with my dreams of you. they can never replace you nor the silver dew. the golden stars will disappear when you are miles away from here. but you must go in the morning sun. and as you hold my hand the time has come tonight to say goodbye.

Band history:

Llyn Y Morynion borrowed their name from the The Mabinogion, a collection of the earliest prose stories of the literature of Celtic Britain. What started off as a school band performing cover-songs in 1989, soon became one of the most famous progressive rock bands in Bavaria, Germany. By the mid-1990s they grew so popular that they even attracted attention of critics outside of Germany. That also brought them to international stages e.g., in Switzerland, England and Wales.
Their own songs, a brilliant combination of various musical styles such as folk and rock, resonated very well with their audience, thus making live performances special.
Llyn Y Morynion produced four CDs: two studio albums (“Llyn Y Morynion”, 1993 and "Art Y Shock", 1996), one documentary (“Anniversary - 10 years alive”, 1999) and one live album ("Ynplygged", 2002). Also available are seven hours of live footage of their first anniversary concert in 1999 with over 30 befriended bands co-celebrating their first 10 years. As life happened, Llyn Y Morynion split up in June 2002.
